We found a health food shop in plain sight. It was on a street we walk down all the time and adjacent to a tea shop, both run by the same woman. To the left is a room filled to the brim with teas, coffee, and even gourmet chocolates. To the right, healthy foods and ingredients, and even some rare ones that we haven't seen in our little corner of Russia before now.
On a shelf, innocently sitting, was a stack of peanut butters. They were beautiful and calling to us like a friend we hadn't seen in years. Back home, I'm an almond butter girl myself, but the lure of a jar of crunchy, natural, sugar and additive-free peanut butter was too much to resist.
I loaded up on some tea too. This package of cardamom and ginger tea is spicy, warm, and lovely.
Tyler made a slice a toast and slathered our new found friend all over it, while I added it to my familiar bowl of oatmeal.
It's amazing how good just a couple of teaspoons of peanut butter made me feel. This particular brand sells other varieties too, like smooth, coconut, and even cashew butter. I think I'll get to know this shop better over the next couple of months and see what other goodies are hiding in plain sight.
